THE ROLE 

Project Leadership & Management 

  • Lead projects from kickoff through closeout, managing scope, schedule, budget, and quality with accountability to both the client and the firm. 
  • Serve as the primary client point of contact, building and maintaining trusted relationships through proactive communication and reliable delivery. 
  • Develop and manage project work plans, staffing forecasts, and fee budgets; monitor progress and take corrective action as needed. 
  • Facilitate project meetings, design workshops, and deliverable reviews with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders. 
  • Identify and manage project risks, changes in scope, and contract compliance throughout the project lifecycle. 
  • Mentor and guide junior and mid-level staff, providing technical direction and supporting their professional development. 
  • Contribute to proposal development, fee estimating, and interview preparation in support of new project pursuits. 

 

Design & Technical Execution 

  • Plan, lead, and prepare work including proposals, narratives, presentations, specifications, sketches, and drawings during all phases of architectural assignments — consistently meeting project scope, budget, and deadlines. 
  • Define program requirements and establish design parameters based upon client intentions. 
  • Produce design and construction documents with thoughtful, code-compliant architectural solutions. 
  • Identify, interpret, and apply relevant codes and standards to industrial, laboratory, office, and hazardous occupancies; prepare code analysis deliverables. 
  • Conduct research and coordinate design with engineers and specialty consultants. 
  • Encourage and collaborate with the team on design integrity, accuracy, clarity, and quality. 
  • Inspect architectural features of structures in the field against construction documents. 
  • Travel to off-site locations and/or accept client site assignments when . 

 

Business Development 

  • Actively support the company’s pursuit of new project opportunities through client relationship management, proposal support, and participation in industry events. 
  • Collaborate effectively with coworkers, peers, and clients to cement mutually beneficial relationships and successfully complete quality project outcomes. 

 

THE REQUIREMENTS 

Architectural license and NCARB Certificate, both in good standing 

  • 10+ years of work experience in architect career-related roles 
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects including budget, schedule, and client communications 
  • Business development experience preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Experience applying architectural techniques commonly used in industrial capital projects 
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, exhibiting good judgment with strong client focus 
  • Expertise in interpreting IBC/IFC, NFPA, and OSHA for client and AHJ presentations 
  • Advanced knowledge of architecture and building systems 
  • Proficient with MS Office, AutoCAD, Revit, and manual sketching 
  • Ability to pass client badging and screening process

  • Salary: $110,000–$160,000/year, depending on education, experience, location, and directly related certifications
