· Supports multimodal capital projects that improve and complete Eugene’s transportation system.
· Assists with corridor studies.
· Analyzes traffic crash data.
· Assists in the update of plans and polices that support and guide transportation planning work.
· Collaborates with higher level planning staff to set goals and objectives.
· Reviews and gives feedback on projects throughout the planning, design, and construction phases.
· Applies for grants, including regional, state and federal grants to fund transportation projects.
· Utilizes the City’s Transportation System Plan prioritization tools to identify high priority projects.
· Works with the Division’s Community Engagement Coordinator to effectively communicate project goals, details, and timeline to the community.
· Plans and conducts effective community stakeholder engagement.
· Answers questions and provides information to the public related to active transportation.
· Presents and receives feedback from the City’s Active Transportation Committee on key projects.
· Assists in maintaining an up-to-date map of the City’s transportation system, providing seasonal project information to GIS mapping staff.
· Helps collect, prioritize and respond to community concerns around traffic speeds including scheduling traffic counts and programming traffic calming projects.
· Coordinates with, and supports, transportation options outreach events, programs, and promotions of newly built capital projects.
· Creates written documents for the City Council and other committees and advisory boards; makes and delivers presentations as required.
· Participates in regional transportation planning through the Lane County Metropolitan Planning Organization and represents the City of Eugene as needed.
· Prepares or oversees the preparation of maps, charts, and graphs for transportation planning projects.
· May serve as project manager for transportation planning projects. Which would include conducting consultant selection, negotiating, developing and managing contracts.
· Contributes to staff development on diversity and creating a respectful work environment.
· Performs related duties as assigned.

Working Conditions
Regular focus on a computer screen. Daily precise control of fingers and hand movements. Daily standing and sitting for prolonged periods. Attendance at meetings or activities outside of normal business hours. Occasional operation of a motor vehicle and/or a bicycle on public streets. Occasional physical exposures when making site visits.
What to Expect from our Selection Process: Applicants are screened based upon their relevant knowledge, abilities, skills, experience, and training. The selection process varies according to the position and can include such things as screening of supplemental questionnaires, written or skill tests, ability or fitness tests, interviews, and assessment processes. In addition, background investigations and records checks may be required.
