Our client is a well-established construction equipment operation supporting commercial, industrial, healthcare, manufacturing, and education projects throughout the region. Their projects range from smaller renovations to large-scale developments valued up to $1 billion.

This is a long-term opportunity for a construction professional who is organized, analytical, and comfortable communicating with a variety of teams throughout the preconstruction process.

Position Overview

The Assistant Preconstruction Manager will support the Preconstruction Manager with planning and coordinating crane and hoist operations before construction begins.

This position will help develop project layouts, equipment plans, logistics strategies, budgets, and safety procedures while working closely with engineering, design, project, vendor, and construction teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate upcoming projects to determine crane and hoist requirements
  • Develop crane and hoist site layouts and logistics plans
  • Create design plans using CAD software
  • Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments
  • Identify potential logistical and operational challenges
  • Coordinate equipment needs with vendors and suppliers
  • Work with engineering and design teams to incorporate crane and hoist requirements into project plans
  • Prepare cost estimates and project budgets
  • Assist with bidding and proposal activities
  • Monitor project expenses and budget requirements
  • Research and apply applicable industry standards and regulations
  • Support company safety requirements and STCKY initiatives
  • Train and mentor junior team members on preconstruction procedures

Required Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of CAD software
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively with multiple teams
  • Knowledge of construction safety regulations and industry standards
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities

Preferred Experience

  • 3–5 years of preconstruction experience
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field
  • Crane and hoist experience
  • Bluebeam experience
  • Construction industry experience

Additional Information

  • Full-time position
  • Monthly travel, typically around 2 days per trip
  • Projects include healthcare, commercial, industrial, manufacturing, and education
  • Project sizes can range from smaller renovations to major developments
  • Experience with cranes is preferred but not required
