Summary
The LSU School of Interior Design seeks applicants for an Assistant Professor of Practice non-tenure track appointment. Applicants will be expected to demonstrate a broad understanding of the discipline of Interior Design, as well as a strong record of practice and teaching.
Job Responsibilities
Candidates are expected to teach and engage in service to the School, College, and University. Teaching assignments include studios, lecture courses, and seminars. Candidates should value interdisciplinary collaboration and scholarship, and have the ability to contribute to multiple levels of the Interior Design curriculum while promoting design excellence. 80%
Conduct service work through School, College, and University committees and community/professional activities. Additional responsibilities include student advising and mentoring. 20%
Minimum Qualifications
Masters (terminal degree in Interior Design or related field). Should possess a strong record of professional practice and teaching experience in the discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
A professional degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture; Evidence-Based Design Accreditation and Certification, LEED Accredited Professional and/or WELL Accredited Professional; Ability to integrate digital design technologies in teaching; A successful record of previous teaching experience in interior design; Professional practice experience. NCIDQ Certification
