Construction Manager
Careers in Demand09th October, 2026
You know residential construction. You understand what it takes to keep projects moving, manage costs, maintain quality and keep builders happy.
But the next step in your career isn't necessarily managing more sites yourself. It could be leading the people who do, building a stronger team and improving how the whole operation runs.
That's the opportunity here.
We're representing a well-established, family-owned construction business with more than 30 years in the industry. Operating across South East Queensland and Northern NSW, the business delivers thousands of residential projects each year for major builders and developers.
It's a professional, progressive operation with established systems, strong industry relationships and plenty of room to grow.
They're now looking for a Construction Manager to lead their Site Supervisor team and take responsibility for the overall performance of their residential construction operation.
What will you be doing? You'll be responsible for making sure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to a high standard, while developing the people and processes that make it happen.
That includes:
- Leading the supervisors: Set clear expectations, coach your team, manage performance and develop future leaders.
- Owning project delivery: Oversee a high-volume portfolio from pre-start through to completion, ensuring the right people, materials and plans are in place.
- Managing the numbers: Monitor budgets, job margins, labour and material costs, variations and rework.
- Driving quality and safety: Establish consistent standards across sites and address the causes of recurring defects and delays.
- Building strong relationships: Work with major builders, developers, suppliers and internal teams to resolve issues and keep projects on track.
- Improving the operation: Make better use of systems, technology, scheduling and processes to lift productivity as the business grows.
What's in it for you?
- $130,000β$160,000 + super, depending on experience.
- Your choice of company vehicle or vehicle allowance.
- 12 RDOs a year, on top of annual leave and personal leave.
- Hybrid flexibility, with a mix of site visits, office time at North Lakes and work from home.
- Phone and laptop supplied.
- The opportunity to lead an established team in a business with a substantial pipeline of work.
- Genuine scope to influence how the operation performs, develop your supervisors and help shape the next stage of a growing business.
- Support for professional development and further qualifications.
Just as importantly, you'll be comfortable leading supervisors, managing subcontractors and holding people accountable without losing their respect.
You'll also bring:
- Strong commercial judgement and experience with budgets, costs and resource planning.
- A sound understanding of construction quality, building standards and workplace health and safety.
- The ability to manage competing priorities across multiple projects and regions.
- Confidence dealing with builders, clients and senior stakeholders.
- A practical, solutions-focused approach and an interest in improving systems and performance.
- A current White Card and driver's licence, with the ability to travel regularly across the region.
Location Based at North Lakes, with regular travel to sites across Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Ipswich, Logan, Toowoomba and, when required, Northern NSW.
Interested in a different level of responsibility? This is an opportunity for an experienced construction professional who wants to have a broader impact, develop a strong team and help shape the next stage of a growing business.
