Job Description

CEDA is looking to hire Construction Manager for our Fort McMurray, AB location. CEDA will be working with one of their clients to reassemble their entire dredge, as well as assemble a marina and an electrical barge on site.

The Construction Manager is responsible for the oversight and safe execution of a Dredging Project.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring adherence to CEDA and Occupational Health and Safety standards
  • Ensuring adherence with CEDA and Client quality standards
  • Assist service contractors in the development of budgets
  • Assist Project Management in the development of work scheduled, project budgets, monitor measure, check and correct
  • Assist Project Management in the identification and development of change orders
  • Review and authorize LEMs
  • Coordinate and manage work activities of multiple contractors, monitor measure, check and correct
  • Collaborating with a CEDA Engineering, Project Management, Operations and Client groups to help resolve work issues as required
  • Coordinating inspection of dredging and other activities with outside agencies
  • Coordinate HAZOP Meetings, Daily Pre construction kickoff meetings
  • Responsible for quality of workmanship and adherence to specification on supervised work.
  • Conduct daily safety meetings
  • Daily project reporting
  • Other duties as required

Role Specifications

  • 5 to 7 years managing large scale construction or turnaround projects
  • Trade certification (pipefitter or welder or electrical or steel erector) or Technical Diploma or Engineering Degree
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experienced in the Microsoft Office (Word , Excel, Outlook, Project)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong  interpersonal skills
