Position Summary:
Join our team as a Construction Manager and lead
the successful delivery of dynamic construction projects in a fast-paced,
site-based environment. Reporting to the VP, Construction, you will oversee
daily project operations, providing leadership to field teams, coordinating
subcontractors, and ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in
alignment with project goals.
As the primary on-site representative, you’ll build
strong relationships with clients, operations teams, and internal stakeholders
while driving a culture of safety, accountability, collaboration, and
operational excellence. This role is ideal for a strong leader who thrives in
complex environments, values teamwork and mentorship, and can confidently
bridge communication between the field, Project Services, and corporate teams
to keep projects moving forward successfully.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

- Develop and execute project plans,
schedules, and budgets in alignment with client requirements, TNDC standards,
and company objectives.
- Manage contractual and commercial
aspects of assigned projects, including scope changes, change orders,
subcontractor agreements, and dispute resolution.
- Monitor project performance, identify
risks, and implement corrective actions to ensure projects are delivered
safely, on schedule, within scope, and on budget.
- Requisition personnel, services,
material, supplies, tools and equipment for assigned projects in accordance
with company guidelines, standards, and prepared budgets.
- Provide input and recommendations on
employee and subcontractor staffing decisions, including promotions, transfers,
compensation adjustments, discipline, suspension, or termination, in
coordination with Human Resources and site management.
- Ensure all site activities comply with
applicable safety regulations, environmental requirements, and company
policies.
- Lead safety initiatives including
audits, toolbox talks, risk assessments, and incident investigations,
implementing preventive measures as required.
- Serve as the primary on-site point of
contact for clients and stakeholders, maintaining strong relationships and
effective communication.
- Track project costs, review and approve
subcontractor invoices and change orders, and ensure financial accountability.
- Identify and implement cost- and
time-saving opportunities without compromising safety, quality, or performance.
- Ensure all work meets project
specifications, industry standards, and quality requirements through
inspections and quality control processes.
- Prepare and maintain accurate project
documentation and reporting, including safety, financial, and operational
metrics.
- Identify opportunities for continuous
improvement, best practices, and innovation to enhance project delivery.
- Step into supervisory roles required to
support continuity during critical or high-demand phases of the project.
- Provide hands-on leadership and
decision-making during complex, high-risk, or time-sensitive project
activities.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Degree or Diploma in Engineering,
Construction Management, Business Administration, a related technical field, or
an equivalent combination of progressive field-based experience and education.
- Minimum of 15 years of direct
experience in heavy civil, mining, industrial, oil & gas, chemical
refining, or related construction management environments.
- Expert knowledge of construction
methods, technologies, equipment, scheduling, project execution, and cost
control practices.
- Strong verbal and written communication
skills, with the ability to clearly communicate complex information to diverse
audiences.
- Proven ability to lead with integrity,
professionalism, accountability, and sound judgment in all aspects of work.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking,
and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to make effective, data-driven
decisions in high-pressure environments.

project settings, with flexibility to travel or relocate as operational needs
require.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with a
focus on collaboration, innovation, team development, and driving
high-performance results.
Mentorship and Knowledge Sharing
Provide
guidance, training, and mentorship to team members, especially local Tahltan
workers, by sharing technical skills, safety practices, and industry knowledge
in a respectful and culturally aware manner. Uphold Tahltan values and

mutual learning. Support the growth of the Tahltan workforce by helping build
capacity, promoting safe and effective work practices, and ensuring that
knowledge is passed on to strengthen both the team and the broader Tahltan

WORKING CONDITIONS
This
position follows a rotational schedule of 15 days on, 13 days off, working 12
hours per day, subject to project requirements. Travel and accommodations are
provided for site assignments. The role involves regular deadlines that may
create periods of high pressure, and overtime or work on off days may be
required as operational needs dictate.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
- Pre-employment
drug and alcohol screening and fitness for work assessment where required for
site access.
- Valid
class 5 driver’s license and abstract, which must be maintained.
- Willingness
to sign an Oath of Confidentiality.
SUPERVISION
Oversees all assigned
General Foremen/Sr. Supervisors, Foremen/Supervisors, employees, and
subcontractors.
