Our client is seeking a Construction Manager to oversee civil engineering and construction projects in Cape Town. This opportunity is suited to a hands-on construction professional with strong site management capabilities and a proven commitment to delivering projects safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate day-to-day construction activities on site.
- Oversee project planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and progress monitoring.
- Supervise site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure efficient project execution.
- Ensure all construction activities comply with project specifications, engineering drawings, and quality standards.
- Monitor project costs, labour, materials, and equipment to maintain budgetary control.
- Implement and enforce health, safety, and environmental procedures on site.
- Identify and resolve construction challenges, technical issues, and programme delays.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, engineers, and other stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintain accurate site records, progress reports, and construction documentation.
- Ensure projects are completed within agreed timelines and to the satisfaction of the client.
Requirements
- Relevant qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience in a Construction Manager or Site Agent role within the civil engineering and construction industry.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, project planning, and site management.
- Experience managing site teams, subcontractors, and construction resources.
- Knowledge of construction quality standards, health and safety requirements, and environmental compliance.
