Construction Manager (Electrical) ( [email protected] )

We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager with a strong electrical construction background and registered with the South African Council for the Project and Construction Management Professions (SACPCMP). The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating all electrical construction activities on site, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with contractual and statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise all electrical construction activities on site
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and site personnel
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, drawings, and quality standards
• Monitor project progress against programme and budget
• Conduct site inspections and quality control assessments
• Ensure compliance with Occupational Health & Safety Act and Construction Regulations
• Lead toolbox talks, safety meetings, and risk assessments
• Liaise with clients, consultants, engineers, and project stakeholders
• Manage procurement and material delivery schedules
• Review and approve method statements and technical submissions
• Prepare progress reports and attend site meetings
• Identify and resolve construction and technical issues proactively
• Ensure testing, commissioning, and handover requirements are completed

Minimum Requirements

• National Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
• Trade Test Certificate (Electrician) advantageous
• SACPCMP registration as:
  • Professional Construction Manager (PrCM), or
• Minimum 5–10 years’ experience in electrical construction projects
• Experience in medium voltage (MV) and low voltage (LV) installations
• Experience in industrial, commercial, infrastructure, or mining projects advantageous
• Valid driver’s licence
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and project planning software

Technical Competencies

• Electrical reticulation and distribution systems
• Medium Voltage (MV) and Low Voltage (LV) systems
• Cable installations, substations, transformers, and switchgear
• Construction planning and scheduling
• Site supervision and contractor management
• Health & Safety compliance
• Quality assurance and control
• Contract administration knowledge (FIDIC advantageous)

• Experience on EPC / EPCM projects
• Knowledge of renewable energy or infrastructure projects
• First Aid and Fall Protection certifications
• Experience working with Eskom or municipal standards

Salary:   Market Related
