About The Opportunity:

We are spearheading several exciting initiatives, taking on technical responsibilities for programme management, engineering oversight, and construction assurance. As part of our expanding footprint in the region, we are currently seeking a qualified Construction Manager to support the delivery and oversight of a key infrastructure package under our Technical Services Provider (TSP) contract.
This position is site-based in Riyadh, supporting secure infrastructure works for one of our government clients. As the Construction Manager, you will act on behalf of the client to provide oversight, assurance, and technical input across all phases of the Design & Build contractor’s delivery. Your contributions will help ensure the project meets its quality, safety, compliance, and performance requirements.
The Construction Manager will take responsibility for activities in the field relating to the construction of the designated section of the works and its on-site facilitation. This will include the management of day to day on site supervision, direction and monitoring of activities on the site, providing input into the planning the site works in a way to most safely and efficiently deliver the project. To discharge the role requires a range of technical skills and competences, management and communication skills, construction awareness and knowledge of industry standard construction and safety procedures.
Reporting to the Project Manager, the Construction Manager will be assigned with the responsibility for the delivery of construction operations for a Project (or specific sections of the Works within a Project). This responsibility extends to all construction and related activities, including programming and planning, monitoring and close out of the site works, client liaison, and staff management. In addition to the reporting and liaising accountabilities, the Construction Manager will be required to adhere to and suggest enhancements and improvements where appropriate to company policies, procedures and protocols for construction, procurement, health and safety and other functions.
The Construction Manager will take responsibility for tactical logistics planning for work activities within the assigned scope of works and thereafter will be responsible for planning and implementation in collaboration with the overall Project Delivery Team.
Key Responsibilities:
Proactively communicate with the wider Project Team (H&S, Contract Management, Design, Project Controls, Logistics and Procurement) and Construction Managers/Supervisors to maintain good communication links and ensure all activities are well and timely reported.
Contribute information on specific areas to weekly and monthly reports, as well as issuing and maintaining performance and KPI indicators.
Support Team instructions to take temporary measures to mitigate and keep works safe and within Quality standards. Follow up by taking appropriate and proportionate action (e.g. issue communications, call meetings) to avoid the halt of works.
Ensure clear two-way communication with Line Manager so that all activity is directed appropriately.
Manage a team of Construction Supervisors/Superintendents, Field Engineers and Engineers to deliver their assigned roles and tasks.
Develop the team with a good prospective of on-site activities (6 months ahead).
Monitor and assess team individuals.
Ensures the training of team individuals as required.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
The Construction Manager should have a broad knowledge of construction techniques with technical expertise across specific types of construction and forms of contract. The post is responsible for ensuring the works are developed to programme and quality, in accordance with the Amentum requirements for health, safety and the environment. The Construction Manager will:
Have the ability to build and manage a site team that continuously outperforms expectations and objectives.
Manage the strategic planning of the site works, including construction sequencing, recovery plans and resource allocation.
Possess good organisation and communication skills.
Possess the ability to develop and monitor robust programmes and implement remedial action if required.
Ensure trade contractors and suppliers are resourced adequately to perform the works.
Display a good working knowledge of commercial principles affecting construction matters.
Be able to write informative, concise and meaningful reports.
Motivate and energise staff through building a climate of trust and understanding, whilst actively seeking alternative views and opinions.
The Construction Manager will have the following:
Experience in the delivery of large, complex projects, including Defence, Power, Chemical and Industrial.
Chartered Status and supported with Degree or Higher Diploma in Construction related field - Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or Construction Management.
Experience of operating within a high security environment.
Experience working within large construction projects including Civil Engineering and the installation of Mechanical and Electrical Plant.
The Construction Manager will have the capability to:
Lead a team and collaborating with other senior managers to effectively manage operations on site.
Develop junior members of the team and imparting knowledge and skills.
Understand and liaise with the construction and wider project personnel to assist in logistical, sequence and methodology planning.
Adopt a result focussed mind set, using initiative wherever possible and taking personal responsibility and accountability to ensure the necessary action is taken to deliver excellence, value and quality.
Be alert and responsive to the need for change by encouraging new thinking and initiatives.
Make autonomous decisions and operate with minimal supervision.
