As a Construction Manager II, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality infrastructure projects by overseeing construction activities, ensuring compliance with project plans and specifications, and fostering strong relationships with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders. This position requires a balance of technical expertise, leadership, and communication skills to support successful project execution from pre-construction through closeout.
What are the core responsibilities for the role?

Oversee day-to-day construction activities to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget

Monitor contractor performance for compliance with plans, specifications, and applicable standards

Coordinate with project managers, engineers, inspectors, and clients to resolve field issues efficiently

Review and track project schedules, submittals, RFIs, and change orders

Facilitate and lead construction meetings, including progress, coordination, and safety meetings
-
Ensure adherence to safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements

Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily reports, quantity tracking, and progress records
-
Assist in cost control efforts, including reviewing pay applications and supporting budget tracking

Identify risks and proactively develop solutions to mitigate impacts to schedule and cost

Provide mentorship and guidance to junior staff and field personnel

Support project closeout activities, including punch lists, final inspections, and documentation
Qualifications, Skills, and Competencies:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering (P.E. Preferred), or a related field (or equivalent experience)

3–6 years of progressive experience in construction management, preferably in DOT transportation or infrastructure projects

Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and project delivery processes

Experience with DOT or public agency projects is preferred

Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and contract documents

Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail

Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams

Proficiency in construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Demonstrated ability to manage staff on large, fast-paced projects
-
