Position Overview
Preston is looking for a skilled professional to join our risk management team. A reliable and dependable individual to assist and work with our other Construction Manager(s). Someone who has many years of project management experience in the public and private sector and has run projects and is familiar with all of the phases of a construction project. We need a person who loves challenges, loves to problem-solve, and is solution-oriented. A great collaborator with clear over-communication. Ability to adapt quickly to changes in urgency and prioritize effectively to meet deadlines. Additionally, either capable or willing to learn to be an asset to aid in reviews and negotiations as needed. The overall goal of this position is to support and optimize risk management/construction management as a resource for all other departments in the company to mitigate risks wherever possible.
Key Responsibilities
Support and report to the current Construction Manager
Interface with all companies and departments
Special or focus projects supervision/ involvement in Operations
Review of contract documents as needed including, but not limited to, agreements, specs, reports, PLAs, OCIPs, NDAs, etc.
Schedule review and input
Change order, claims, etc.
Communications
Oversight of the Contracts Team and ability to contribute support as needed
Oversee the review or generation of agreements including, but not limited to, upper-tier contracts, lower-tier contracts, subcontracts, procurement, service, NDAs and confidentiality agreements, consulting, software, etc.
Review of software agreements for Technology and other departments
Review of consulting agreements for company
Legal Liaisons for projects and company
Insurance Liaisons for projects and company
Review and support compliance efforts with safety, field, accounting/ finance, etc.
Review of credit applications terms and conditions for Accounting/ Finance
Review of bid documents as requested by Estimating including, but not limited to, agreements, specs, reports, PLAs, OCIPs, NDAs, etc.
Develop training concerning construction management, contracts, engineering, etc. as needed
Develop SOPs and templates as needed for training and policy development
Advise/review other company literature including, but not limited to, policies and procedures as necessary
Qualifications
Required:
10+ years’ experience in project management in the ACEC industry.
Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in a related or an equivalent field
Experience and knowledge of job-tracking, budgeting, procurement, scheduling, forecasting, etc.
Private and public works project experience
Change order and claims process experience
Proficient at contract document reading and understanding including, but not limited to, agreements, plans/drawings, specifications, schedules, geotechnical reports, etc.
Familiarity with Critical Path Method (CPM) and Time Impact Analysis (TIAs)

Pay Range: $135,000–$170,000, annually, based on experience and role requirements

Location
This position hybrid based out of Milpitas, CA.
Expect to do some travel within the Bay Area and Sacramento.
