Electrical Pre-Construction Manager – Major M&E Projects

We’re looking for an experienced Electrical Pre-Construction Manager to join King & Moffatt Building Services and lead the electrical pre-construction and bid strategy across major M&E projects.

This is a senior leadership role where you’ll drive electrical tendering, technical compliance, design coordination, commercial strategy, and client engagement from initial enquiry through to project handover.

What you’ll be doing

  • Leading the electrical pre-construction and bid management process from enquiry through to project handover
  • Developing winning strategies for Electrical and full M&E Design & Build tenders
  • Coordinating Electrical Estimators, Design Engineers, Planners, and Bid Teams
  • Reviewing electrical technical specifications, drawings, and tender documentation
  • Managing electrical design development and technical compliance throughout tender stages
  • Identifying project risks, long-lead electrical equipment requirements, and programme constraints
  • Driving value engineering opportunities and innovative electrical solutions
  • Leading supply chain engagement with key electrical manufacturers and subcontractors
  • Managing tender programmes and ensuring submissions meet client requirements and deadlines
  • Preparing and delivering technical presentations and tender interviews with clients and consultants
  • Supporting seamless handover from Pre-Construction to Operations and Project Delivery teams
  • Monitoring market trends, bid performance, and opportunities for continuous improvement

Qualifications

What we’re looking for

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience within the Electrical Building Services or M&E sector
  • At least 5 years in a Pre-Construction, Senior Estimating, or Electrical Bid Management role
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or Construction Management
  • Strong technical understanding of electrical systems, infrastructure, and building services delivery
  • Experience working on Data Centre, Pharmaceutical, Industrial, or large commercial projects
  • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of JCT / NEC contracts
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tenders and work to tight deadlines
  • Proficient in estimating software, MS Project / Asta, and digital construction platforms
