GC Construction Quality Manager
The Construction Quality Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the project quality management system for construction projects. This role ensures that all work complies with contract requirements, industry standards, local codes and company quality objectives, while driving continuous improvement across field operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Quality Management & Compliance
- Develop and implement the Project Quality Management Plan (QMP) in alignment with company standards, contract requirements, and GTAA requirements
- Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, regulations, and client specifications
- Establish inspection and testing procedures for all phases of construction
- Monitor adherence to quality standards across subcontractors and self-perform work
- Inspections & Audits
- Oversee and coordinate inspections, testing, and documentation of construction work
- Conduct internal quality audits and jobsite reviews to identify deficiencies
- Ensure timely resolution of non-conformances and corrective actions
- Maintain inspection records, reports, and turnover documentation
- Evaluate subcontractor quality plans and ensure compliance with project requirements
- Conduct pre-installation meetings to align on quality expectations
- Monitor subcontractor work for compliance with specifications and drawings
- Maintain all quality-related documentation, including:
- Inspection and test plans (ITPs)
- Non-conformance reports (NCRs)
- Corrective action reports
- Daily quality logs
- Prepare quality reports for project leadership and clients
- Support project closeout by ensuring completion of punch lists and turnover packages
- Work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and Safety teams
- Support coordination with client representatives, inspectors, and third-party agencies
- Lead quality meetings and training sessions for project staff
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, productivity, and workmanship
- Promote a culture of quality and accountability across project teams
- Analyze quality trends and implement preventive measures
- Coordinate construction activities across multiple disciplines to ensure a smooth BHS installation
Qualifications
- Preferred to have a bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field
- 7+ years of construction experience, with at least 3 years in a quality control/quality management role
- Experience working with a general contractor on commercial, industrial, or infrastructure projects
- OSHA 30-hour certification
- ISO 9001 or similar quality management system experience
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and codes
- Experience with QA/QC processes, inspections, and documentation systems
- Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Autodesk, Bluebeam)

- Reports to: Project Construction Manager
- Works closely with: Superintendents, Engineers, Safety Manager, and Subcontractors
Salary range:
This is a full-time position, eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. The salary range listed represents the maximum and minimum starting base pay for this position as of the time of posting. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. Salary range for this position is CAD$130,000 to CAD$165,000.
