Interior Designer - Commercial Remodeling & Wellness Spaces

Konik is partnering with a nationally recognized company to add an Interior Designer to its commercial remodeling and capital projects team. This role focuses on transforming existing facilities through renovations ranging from single room spaces to large-scale building modernizations, creating environments that support wellness, hospitality, and customer experience goals.

This is an opportunity to take ownership of projects, interpret and evolve established design standards, and collaborate closely with architects, project managers, consultants, and business stakeholders. The team handles unique, high-visibility projects in-house while leveraging consultants for more repetitive design work.

 

Interior Designer Responsibilities:

  • Lead interior design efforts for renovation and modernization projects, from concept development through construction administration
  • Develop space plans, finish selections, millwork details, furniture layouts, and construction documentation for commercial environments
  • Apply and refine organizational design standards while creating solutions for unique and complex project requirements.
  • Coordinate with architects, project managers, consultants, contractors, and vendors to maintain design intent throughout project execution.
  • Review submittals, RFIs, and change documentation and participate in site observations during construction.
  • Support FF&E selection, specifications, procurement coordination, and installation activities.
  • Provide design leadership on assigned projects and contribute to mentoring junior team members when needed.

 

Interior Designer Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design from a CIDA-accredited program.
  • 4+ years of commercial interior design experience; corporate workplace, retail, healthcare, clinic, hospitality, or renovation-focused experience strongly desired.
  • Experience leading project design efforts and confidently making recommendations and decisions throughout the design process.
  • Proficiency with Revit required.
  • Experience with Enscape, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office preferred.
  • Strong understanding of construction documentation, commercial interiors, space planning, and construction administration.
