As our next Interior Designer and Project Manager, you won't just be designing spaces-you'll be creating the foundational environments that empower our teams and sustain the critical infrastructure our region depends on. In this role, you will:
- Lead a variety of interior design and space planning projects from concept to completion, taking full ownership of project scope, budget, schedule, and quality.
- Spearhead multi-disciplinary project teams, fostering collaboration between architects, engineers, and other partners to deliver strategic and impactful results.
- Serve as the key liaison with clients and customers, translating their needs into clear project requirements and defining the path to successful outcomes.
- Act as a trusted technical advisor, evaluating the long-term impacts of facility modifications and providing recommendations that shape major capital investment decisions.
- Develop innovative design solutions that meet complex regulatory and technical requirements, directly supporting the long-term sustainability and reliability of BPA's facilities.
- Drive project success by proactively identifying and removing obstacles, empowering your team to deliver exceptional results and complete projects efficiently.
- Provide expert oversight of contractor activities, ensuring high-quality work, adherence to timelines, and responsible stewardship of project funds.
- Represent the organization as a subject matter expert on interior design and space planning, providing guidance and technical expertise to BPA staff, leadership, and external partners.

Qualifications
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) in the Federal service.
Specialized experience for this position is defined as: experience: 1) assisting with the project management of commercial interior design projects by contributing to project scope development, monitoring schedules, and tracking budgets under the guidance of a senior project manager; and 2) applying building codes and design principles to produce technical drawings and specifications, and monitoring contractor performance.
"Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
