Interior Designer

WSP is currently initiating a search for an Interior Designer to work out of our Arlington, VA office.

Your Impact

• Assist, as directed by design team, in all project phases of design including Programming, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documentation, and Construction Administration. 
• Assist, as directed by the design team, with the specification of furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E) throughout all phases of interior design work.
• Assist in the development and documentation of interior spaces, including but not limited to floor plans, reflected ceiling plans, finish plans, enlarged plans, elevations, schedules, and details.
• Conduct research as directed for product and finish selections.
• Assist in preparing technical specifications in accordance with project requirements and industry standards.
• Coordinate design activities with disciplines such as architecture, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, plumbing engineering, life safety, security, telecommunications and other related functional areas.
• Ensure compliance with building codes and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements.
• Assist in preparing presentation boards.
• Assist in maintaining team Revit library and creating new Revit families.
• Assist in preparing computerized renderings and other presentation graphics.
• Maintain the Interior Design library by organizing and continually updating new and discontinued materials as determined by office.
• Coordinate with vendors to schedule product presentations and Lunch & Learns for continuing education credits.
• Order samples and materials from vendors.
• Continually expand knowledge of the interior design profession through ongoing learning, research, and industry engagement.
• Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
• Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Who You Are
Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or equivalent.
• 5+ years of relevant post education Interior Design experience.
• 5+ years proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD and rendering programs.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, work collaboratively, and foster positive professional relationships. 
• Proven commitment to workplace safety and adherence to WSP’s health, safety, drug and alcohol, and anti-harassment policies.
• Familiarity with building codes, drawing standards, design, and construction management for both renovation and new construction projects.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance. 
• Due to client requirements, U.S. citizenship is required. 
• Proficient in creative design development, visualization techniques, and technical drawing production.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex concepts in a clear, professional manner to a wide range of audiences.
• Proven ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and deliver high-quality work in a dynamic environment.
• Ability to accommodate project-driven schedules that may extend beyond normal working hours.
• Ability to travel occasionally, including the potential for overnight stays, as required to support project delivery.
• Strong preference for candidates with a proven track record supporting DoD and federal clients, utilizing UFC standards, and executing projects in foreign and non-foreign OCONUS locations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Active Secret level U.S. Security Clearance.
• NCIDQ Certificate.

Compensation:

Expected Salary (all locations): $92,600 - $122,700

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
