Client-side Construction Manager is accountable for scope, programme, cost and quality of construction projects whilst maintaining high Safety, Health & Environment standards nationally across our Petrol Filling Station estate. Supporting with the overall planning, organising, leading of projects, coordinating and managing resource from inception to completion.
You will be:
- Responsible for delivering a varied range of planned and reactive Petrol Asset Projects, by taking a leading role in the implementation, change and cost control of the projects across the estate.
- Lead an external Design Team through a series of design meetings and site meetings to ensure the scope is being delivered to cost, programme and quality within Petrol Asset projects, in line with the ASDA Model Specification & give feedback on possible improvements
- Develop programme & phasing to minimise disruption and impact to operations as well as the Identification, mitigation, monitoring and control of risks within the project scope
- Manage project costs and the adhere to all financial processes and controls by following Asda internal governance and compliance guidelines on allocations, costings and approvals
- Deliver and ensure client duties are under CDM, as well as management of CDM regulations and compliance with ASDA Ways of Working to ensure all legal construction regulations and permits are met, as well as ensuring compliance with the APEA Blue Book 5th Edition.
- Work as partners with City FM to ensure alignment across all work areas and that the work is in line with the Asda PFS model specification
- Highlighting and developing new innovative construction and PFS model initiatives to improve lifecycle costing and EDLC. To also support in annual business planning / Capex requirements & support in maintain the PFS Risk Register
- Engaging key stakeholders across Retail, Petrol Trading, Property, Commercial, Compliance & City to ensure all business opportunities/initiatives are landed & present projects for scheme approval to the Senior Directors and Property Vice President

- Understanding of CDM & Petroleum regulations & experience managing contractors / consultants / external SME’s & Petroleum Officers on PFS infrastructure projects
- Lead relationship with all external construction teams as scheme owner and as representative of Asda as the client with regards to matters of CDM and Health & Safety
- Ability to manage multiple fast paced projects & deliver completion on time
- Excellent communication skills – written & verbal
- High competency across all Microsoft office programmes
- Hold the customer at the heart of all decisions
- Ability to manage & challenge cost, landing projects within cost budget & follow governance
- Excellent presentation skills
- Organised and methodical way of working & meticulous planner
- Ability to influence others
- To be flexible to the needs of the business & can adapt to an everchanging landscape
