Job Summary: Project Architect 


We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual with 6+ years of experience to join our Healthcare team. This is a unique opportunity for someone who is looking to grow their talents and increase exposure in the AE Healthcare area. The candidate should be a licensed architect specializing in healthcare who can join our integrated team of design professionals. The select candidate will be instrumental in the production of documents and collaborate closely with Project Managers in both NJ and NY offices while working on projects that span all geographies (NY, NJ & PA). The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 8+ years of experience.

 

This position is currently offered as a hybrid position, with both in-office requirements as well as the potential for remote work. Hybrid work protocols may be subject to change as the company policies adapt to post-pandemic business needs.

 

The position is located at NK Architects NY office, The Woolworth Building, 233 Broadway, Suite 2150, New York, NY 10279.

 

Candidate Duties/Responsibilities:


  • Applies sound architectural and design techniques, methodology and principals to all work product
  • Demonstrates clear competency in preparing all phases of documentation
  • Primary project work will focus on healthcare facilities including but not limited to hospitals and outpatient facilities
  • Proficient with NJ & NY state and federal healthcare code compliance guidelines
  • Capable of producing a coordinated set of construction documents and specifications
  • Liaise as needed with external consultants and engineers and able to incorporate engineering specifications with architectural design
  • Ability to work on a range of projects from new buildings to renovations and alterations
  • Develop programming documentation and preliminary designs as needed
  • Attend pre-proposal meetings and provide input into scope of work and services for new proposals
  • Comfortable and versed working with senior project managers
  • Self-motivated and energetic individual who can collaborate and work closely with others
  • Comfortable in a fast paced and energetic environment
  • Conscious of meeting deadlines while working on multiple projects simultaneously

Required Skills/Abilities:


  • Must be proficient in Autodesk Revit
  • Must be versed in Microsoft office; Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with Newform & Deltek Vantagepoint a Plus
  • Excellent organizational skills, time management skills and attention to detail
  • Collaborative work ethic
  • Strong communication skills

 

 

Education and Experience:


  • Prior experience with healthcare projects including hospitals and outpatient facilities
  • Healthcare programming and planning a plus
  • BArch, MArch or equivalent degree from an accredited U.S. Architecture School
  • Maintain professional license in the USA
  • Healthcare portfolio required

 

Physical Requirements:


  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
