The project:

Mace is supporting the delivery of a large‑scale, next‑generation digital infrastructure programme in the region, working alongside a leading developer in the data centre sector. The project brings together complex design coordination, fast‑paced delivery and rigorous governance to meet the demands of a mission‑critical environment. Our team is applying global best practice in programme, project and commercial management to help shape resilient, future‑ready infrastructure at scale.

The role:

Mace is seeking an experienced Senior Construction Manager to support the delivery of large-scale data centre and mission-critical infrastructure projects in the UAE.

Working as part of the PMC team, you will take responsibility for overseeing on-site construction activities, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest standards required for critical environments. You will play a key role in coordinating multi-disciplinary construction packages, with a strong focus on quality, sequencing and system integration.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Lead and manage construction delivery on site, ensuring alignment with programme, cost and quality objectives.
  • Oversee execution of data centre construction works, including structure, MEP, fit-out and external infrastructure.
  • Manage and coordinate main contractors, subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring effective delivery across all packages.
  • Provide strong leadership across the site team, driving safe systems of work and compliance with HSW standards.
  • Monitor construction progress, identifying risks, delays and mitigation strategies to maintain programme.
  • Ensure strict adherence to QA/QC processes, particularly within mission-critical environments requiring high levels of precision and reliability.
  • Coordinate complex MEP installations and system interfaces, ensuring seamless integration of critical systems.
  • Oversee implementation of construction sequencing, logistics and phasing strategies within constrained or live environments.
  • Review and manage contractor programmes, method statements, risk assessments and work plans. 
  • Support testing, commissioning and handover of critical systems, ensuring compliance with operational and performance requirements.
  • Lead regular site meetings and reporting, providing clear updates on progress, risks and key milestones.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration and high performance across all project stakeholders.

You’ll need to have:

  • Degree qualified in Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline.
  • Proven experience delivering data centres or mission-critical environments (essential).
  • Strong experience managing MEP-intensive projects, including high-density services and complex systems.
  • Track record working within a PMC / consultancy environment on major developments.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage tier 1 contractors and large, multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, logistics and commissioning of critical systems.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Experience working in the United Arab Emirates is essential for client approval.
