Senior Construction Manager – Combined Cycle Power Plant
Play an integral role in leading the construction delivery of complex combined cycle power plant projects that are critical to energy reliability and the transition to more sustainable infrastructure. You operate at the intersection of strategy and execution—bringing structure, leadership, and accountability to large-scale EPC environments. In this role, you directly influence safety, performance, and project outcomes by aligning multidisciplinary teams and driving disciplined execution across all phases of construction.
Purpose of the role
Play an integral role in providing leadership and direction across the construction execution of combined cycle power plant projects. You will ensure that projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within or below budget, and in accordance with contractual obligations. This role translates project and organizational objectives into executable strategies, leveraging technical expertise and operational leadership to drive predictable, high-performance outcomes.

You will lead construction execution with a focus on operational excellence, stakeholder alignment, and safe, efficient delivery across complex power generation projects. Key accountabilities include:
- Leading construction execution across combined cycle power plant projects, ensuring alignment with project objectives, contractual commitments, and organizational priorities
- Developing and implementing construction strategies, execution plans, and delivery frameworks that translate project goals into actionable outcomes
- Providing oversight of major construction scopes including gas turbine installations (including GE turbines), HRSG and boiler systems, and associated balance of plant infrastructure
- Driving schedule performance, cost control, productivity, and quality across all phases of construction
- Supporting and interfacing with engineering teams to ensure constructability, alignment of detailed design deliverables, and effective execution planning
- Providing leadership across multidisciplinary project teams, including construction, engineering, procurement, and project controls functions
- Managing large-scale EPC construction activities on projects typically exceeding $100M in value, ensuring efficiency and alignment with performance expectations
- Supporting commissioning and startup activities, ensuring seamless transition from construction to operational readiness
- Identifying, managing, and mitigating construction risks, developing tactical solutions to maintain project momentum
- Building and leading high-performing teams, including direct and indirect reports, with accountability for performance management and workforce development
- Communicating effectively with senior leadership, clients, and stakeholders, presenting complex issues, solutions, and progress updates with clarity
- Driving a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement across all construction activities
- Supporting the development and improvement of construction systems, processes, and tools to enhance delivery capability

What you’ll bring to the role
You bring a strong combination of technical expertise, leadership capability, and proven experience delivering complex combined cycle power projects.
- A degree in engineering, construction management, or a related discipline—or equivalent relevant experience
- Typically 15+ years of experience in construction, project management, or technical project delivery, including leadership roles on complex projects
- Significant experience in the construction of combined cycle power plants, including multiple (at least three) medium-to-large-scale EPC projects
- Proven expertise in gas turbine installations (including GE turbines), HRSG and boiler installation, and startup and commissioning support
- Strong experience working within EPC environments, with project values typically exceeding $100M
- Demonstrated experience collaborating closely with detailed engineering teams, including participation in constructability reviews and execution planning
- Strong leadership capability, including managing large construction teams and driving accountability across multiple workstreams
- Advanced problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop practical, actionable solutions in complex project environments
- Strong commercial awareness, including understanding of contract requirements, cost control, and delivery commitments
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior leadership and client teams
- A collaborative leadership style, fostering high-performing, inclusive, and accountable project teams
- Advanced understanding of construction systems, processes, and tools, with the ability to troubleshoot issues and drive improvements
