The project:

This is an opportunity to work on one of the largest programmes in Saudi Arabia. This unique project consists of major mixed-use development including sports facilities, entertainment, and arts along with all associated infrastructure.

The role is delivery-focused and will be responsible for managing contractor performance, construction activities, programme milestones, quality standards and safety objectives across a complex portfolio of works. The successful candidate will work closely with project management, commercial, project controls and technical teams to ensure successful delivery in line with programme, budget and quality requirements.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Lead the construction delivery of infrastructure and landscape packages from mobilisation through to completion and handover. 
  • Manage and oversee main contractors, subcontractors and site supervision teams. 
  • Monitor site progress against programme milestones and implement mitigation measures where required. 
  • Drive construction productivity and ensure delivery objectives are achieved. 
  • Ensure works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards and contractual requirements. 
  • Coordinate construction activities across multiple stakeholders and disciplines. 
  • Oversee the delivery of roads, utilities, drainage, external works, public realm and landscape elements. 
  • Review contractor methodologies, recovery plans and short-term programmes. 
  • Manage site risks, constraints and interface issues to minimise disruption to delivery. 
  • Support project controls and commercial teams with progress reporting, change management and contractual matters. 
  • Chair construction progress meetings and coordinate site-based workshops. 
  • Monitor compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality requirements at all times. 
  • Oversee testing, commissioning, snagging, defect resolution and handover activities. 
  • Provide regular reporting on progress, risks, key issues and mitigation actions. 
  • Support operational readiness and transition activities prior to handover.

You’ll need to have:

  • Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering or a related discipline. 
  • Minimum 15 years' experience delivering major infrastructure and construction projects. 
  • Demonstrable experience overseeing main contractors on complex developments. 
  • Strong understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing, temporary works and site logistics. 
  • Experience managing roads, utilities, drainage, public realm, hardscape and softscape works. 
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and construction best practice. 
  • Experience managing programme, quality, risk and delivery performance. 
  • Ability to build effective relationships with contractors, consultants and stakeholders. 
  • Experience within a PMC, client-side, Delivery Partner or programme management environment is preferred. 
  • Professional accreditation such as MCIOB, PMP, PE, CEng or equivalent is advantageous.
  • Necessary visa criteria for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and have relevant work experience working on high-valued projects/programmes for a project management consultancy business, which are required for immigration and client approval.
