POSITION SUMMARY

Designs, manages and performs within a design team in a self-directed manner in all aspects of the Interior Design process including preparation of materials, schematic design, design development, construction documentation, rendering and construction of administration activities within an established budget with specific scheduling, site and programmatic requirements.


A Senior Project Designer leads design scope on entire projects in conjunction with departmental leadership.

Requirements

 

Role Responsibilities  

  • Strong experience with construction materials / finishes and FF&E specifications/providers  
  • Strong experience in project design specifications, construction documentation, production, material selection and construction administration, including shop drawing review 
  • Strong graphic and presentation skills in AutoCAD (current release preferred), InDesign, Photoshop and SketchUp  
  • Strong knowledge in specification writing (SPEXX experience preferred) 
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of design principals, theories, color and materials  
  • Perform Quality Control exercises on one’s own work as well as the work of other team members 
  • Able to manage project tasks in accordance with project schedules 
  • Strong experience in managing and leading successful projects and/or teams 
  • Strong understanding of hotel brand structures, standards and requirements 
  • Strong experience working with project budgets 
  • Translate design direction to project team in accordance with team leadership, brand-specific standards and brand guidelines 
  • Direct project team to produce design documents that meet brands’ submittal standards 
  • Strong project management ability to plan / oversee project tasks in accordance with contract and project fee
     

Role Requirements  

  • Bachelor/Master's Degree in Interior Design or Architecture from a CIDA-accredited or NAAB-accredited program 
  • Minimum 6 years of post-graduate professional Design experience, preferably within the hospitality industry

  • Strong oral presentation skills; able to participate in client presentations and workshops

  • Self-directed and motivated 
  • Complete comprehensive project tasks efficiently in a prescribed 
  • time frame with minimal feedback / redlines from team leadership 
  • Willing and able to manage client and brand relationships 
  • Willing and able to lead one or more project teams 
  • Includes general, personal, and soft skills required for a candidate to meet our expectations in the position.  

Salary & Benefits 

  • $85,000 - $95,000
