Position Summary:

Responsible for overseeing all aspects of ongoing Interior Design projects from conception to completion. Makes decisions and monitors the project to keep it on schedule and within budget to uphold business initiatives. As an Interior Designer, one must have strong organizational, time management, and communication skills and an excellent understanding of interior design, style, and decor. 

Position Expectations: 

  • Ensure Hive Collection's values and vision are clearly defined, communicated, and embodied within the Design team and company-wide 
  • Provide a luxury experience for the clientele by mastering and executing Hive Collective's design aesthetic for residential Interior Design 
  • Represent Hive Collective lifestyle brand through communication, personal appearance, and professionalism 
  • Maintain a strong interest in the luxury design industry and stay current with top trends, social media, and forecasting 
  • Manage all phases of the client experience from consultations, through delivery, and site visits along with your Senior Designer 
  • Provide design expertise, execute small-scale design projects and support the Senior Interior Designer with large-scale projects in partnership with the rest of the team
  • Manage initial in-home consultations as a representative of Hive Design 
  • Lead client meetings and presentations for small-scale interior design projects 
  • Measure client's home, create floor plan's in Auto CAD if files are not provided, and space planning for all relevant rooms 
  • Create functional and aesthetically pleasing spaces by assessing space requirements, determining optimal furniture placement, and selecting the appropriate items for the client 
  • Review project specifications with the Senior Interior Designer to ensure that client's and business partner's needs are being satisfied 
  • Produce and brand design presentations and communicate design concepts, space planning, and product selections to the client
  • Maintain a standard of productivity to ensure financial goals are met 
  • Maintain Master Design Client Spreadsheet with current information as projects progress
  • Create and maintain resource library for fabrics, finishes, wall coverings, etc in the Design Studio 
  • Remain fluid and flexible to support the needs of the business

What Your Background / Experience Should Look Like:

  • Degree in Interior Design, Visual Merchandising, or a related field.
  • 5–8+ years of professional interior design experience
  • Proven experience managing large-scale interior design projects from concept through completion
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar design software required
  • Excellent project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and coordination with contractors and vendors
  • Strong presentation and client communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication abilities and customer service skills
  • Passion for luxury design, style, and décor
  • Willingness to spend time on the sales floor engaging with clients
  • Interest in visual merchandising and retail displays
  • Knowledge of current design trends and social media is a plus
