As a Senior Transportation Planner, you will work within a dynamic Transportation Planning & Engineering (TP&E) team within the Planning and Community Development (PCD) department. TP&E is responsible for a wide range of transportation functions, including developing and overseeing implementation of transportation strategies that align with the vision and policies in Redmond 2050 and the transformation of Redmond from “suburb to city.” Fueled by East Link (scheduled to fully open in Q2 2026), rapid growth, and a community seeking more sustainable transportation options, this is an exciting time for transportation planning and project implementation in Redmond!
The ideal candidate will bring broad expertise in urban and transportation planning, a commitment to equity, sustainability, and safety, and a proven ability to lead complex, multi-stakeholder efforts. Responsibilities include driving strategic planning and policy innovation, coordinating across city departments and external partners, and conducting technical and policy analysis, and managing programmatic and project implementation efforts. Reporting directly to the Transportation Planning Manager, this role offers executive visibility and the chance to leave a legacy on Redmond’s mobility future.As a Senior Transportation Planner, you will work collaboratively within a team and bring independent judgement and rigor in the application of planning principles in policy development, analysis, plan development, and community engagement.
