Davenergy Solutions is currently seeking an onsite full-time Staff Architect (CM-A) at the Alabama VA Medical Center.

Requirements
  • Conducts inspections and reviews of architectural elements in building construction; documents discrepancies, code violations, or improper installation.
  • Responsible for development, design, and preparation of architectural plans/specifications for new and renovation projects.
  • Provides oversight on architectural disciplines and construction contract execution.
  • Prepares and submits daily, weekly, and monthly status and inspection reports.
  • Supports construction management services including Planning, Scheduling, Safety Compliance, and Commissioning Oversight.
  • Participates in physical security and constructability reviews to ensure project compliance.

Relevant Experience

  •  Experience conducting architectural design reviews and resolving field design challenges.
  • Familiarity with healthcare construction, including joint commission and VA standards.
  • Experienced in Construction Administration (CA) processes, including change order proposal review and schedule monitoring.
  • Skilled in Quality Assurance Monitoring, Documentation Management, and Change Control.
  • Experience with integrated master schedules, budget tracking, and cost estimating.

Required Skills and Knowledge

  • Proficient in performing architectural condition assessments and preparing reports.
  • Strong ability to interpret and apply building codes and contract specifications. 
  • Capable of independently directing project workflows, resolving design conflicts, and providing leadership to a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Knowledgeable in government contracting regulations and compliance documentation.
  • Excellent written/oral communication skills and proficiency in project management tools. 
  • Capable of overseeing and coordinating work from consultants, engineers, drafters, and site inspectors.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.
  • Must be a registered architect.
  • Minimum of 6 years of design/construction experience, ideally within healthcare.
  • In lieu of degree: 15 years of directly related experience and current registration as a licensed architect.
