What You'll Be Doing:
Performs professional planning, and engineering duties in support of the Town's transportation infrastructure, capital improvement, and community development initiatives. Responsibilities include planning, coordinating and designing transportation and traffic projects from concept through completion. The position conducts technical analysis, research, and problem-solving to improve the Town's transportation network, enhance pedestrian and traffic safety, and support long-range planning efforts. Work involves coordinating with internal departments, external agencies, consultants, contractors, and the public while providing exceptional customer service and ensuring projects are completed in accordance with Town goals, engineering standards, regulatory requirements, budgets, and schedules. Work is performed under the general direction of the Transportation Engineer within the Department of Public Works, Transportation Division.

The position level will be determined based on the selected candidate's qualifications and relevant experience.

Required Qualifications

Transportation Engineer I ($70,765 - $157,121 DOQ)
Bachelor's degree with major course work in civil engineering or a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience; minimum of two (2) years’ experience in design or construction of civil engineering work; possess a valid driver's license and a safe driving record.

OR

Transportation Planner ($70,765 - $157,121 DOQ)
Bachelor’s degree in planning, design, engineering, geography, public administration, or a related field; minimum of two (2) years’ experience in planning, engineering, zoning or development work or equivalent combination of education and experience.; possess a valid driver's license and a safe driving record.

OR

Transportation Project Manager ($83,458 - $185,308 DOQ)
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in project management, public administration, urban planning, engineering, construction management, geography, or related field; minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in transportation planning, project management, engineering, or related field; possess a valid driver's license and a safe driving record.

The position level will be determined based on the selected candidate's qualifications and relevant experience.


Preferred Qualifications

Transportation Engineer I:
Engineer-In-Training Certificate (EIT); familiarity with local government planning processes, development review, or transportation programs; bilingual in English/Spanish.

OR

Transportation Planner:
Master’s degree in planning, engineering, public administration, or a related field; experience using GIS and transportation data analysis tools; familiarity with local government planning processes, development review, or transportation programs; professional accreditation such as AICP; bilingual in English/Spanish.

OR

Transportation Project Manager:
Project management experience; experience using GIS, project tracking systems, or data analysis tools; seven (7) or more years of experience in transportation planning, project management or engineering; certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP); familiarity with local government planning processes, development review, or transportation programs; bilingual in English/Spanish.
