Hamilton Anderson AssociatesPowerwell is a leading recruitment firm helping our clients discover top talent. We are recruiting for an Architect II / Project Architect for our client, a multidisciplinary architecture and design firm.
The Architect II / Project Architect will lead and coordinate small- to mid-sized architectural projects throughout the full project lifecycle, including design, documentation, permitting, construction, and post-occupancy. This position will work closely with project leadership, consultants, contractors, owners, and clients while helping manage project scope, schedule, budget, BIM production, quality assurance, and consultant coordination.
The ideal candidate is a licensed architect with 6+ years of experience, strong Revit and construction document capabilities, and demonstrated experience leading architectural projects and multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Coordination

Lead, coordinate, and monitor project team members to ensure assignments align with project requirements.

Manage project activities with awareness of scope, schedule, budget, fees, and overall project status.

Coordinate the work of consultants, contractors, owners, and other project stakeholders throughout design, construction, and post-occupancy.

Lead consultant coordination for small- to mid-sized projects with construction costs generally under $10 million.

Support Project Managers with identifying and documenting scope changes and additional services.

Participate in internal and external project meetings with clients, consultants, agencies, and other stakeholders.

Prepare and distribute project meeting documentation as needed.
-
Build strong client relationships through professionalism, accountability, communication, and project performance.
-
Identify opportunities to provide additional project-related services to existing clients.
Architectural Design & Documentation
-
Lead the organization and coordination of project drawing and BIM efforts.
-
Conduct architectural studies and assist in developing design concepts and project design criteria.
-
Prepare reports, calculations, drawings, and detailed construction documents.
-
Conduct preliminary field surveys and develop architectural designs and drafts.
-
Develop complete construction document sets from start to finish using Revit and established architectural standards.

Prepare project materials and written construction specifications.
-
Perform project code reviews.

Collaborate with or serve as the project designer depending on project needs.
Permitting, Construction Administration & Quality Assurance

Support presentations and submissions to authorities for land use, zoning, permitting, and other regulatory approvals.

Observe construction activities during project execution and upon completion to verify adherence to plans and specifications.

Assist contractors with interpretation of architectural plans and specifications.
-
Follow established project production and document review standards.
-
Ensure quality assurance procedures are implemented and maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
BIM & Team Collaboration

Collaborate effectively with project teams to meet deadlines and project requirements.

Help maintain and continuously improve company BIM practices and project delivery standards.

Coordinate architectural work with civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical disciplines.
Qualifications
-
Professional architectural degree from an NCARB-accredited program.
-
Active architectural license required.
-
6+ years of experience in architectural design, contract documents, and construction administration.
-
At least 4 years of project leadership experience.

Demonstrated experience developing architectural construction documents.
-
Experience with entitlements and permitting.
-
Strong understanding of architectural building systems, construction methods, building materials, and sustainability principles.

Knowledge of federal and state building codes and zoning ordinances.

Strong understanding of civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical systems as they relate to architectural design, building performance, and project costs.

Ability to understand and balance client expectations related to budget, design requirements, and project schedules.
-
Strong organizational, problem-solving, multitasking, and decision-making skills.
-
Excellent written, verbal, technical, and graphic communication skills.
-
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Legal authorization to work in the United States is required.
