Salary: $95,000 – $125,000 + Bonus
Schedule: Hybrid (3 Days In-Office | Thursday–Friday Remote / Half-Day Fridays Available)

Position Overview
TCA Architects is seeking an experienced Project Architect to join our Oakland studio. This role serves as a key technical and design leader, working closely with the Studio Director and Project Manager to guide project teams from early schematic design through construction administration.
As a Project Architect, you will be responsible for maintaining design integrity, ensuring technical excellence, managing consultant coordination, and overseeing high-quality documentation. This position is ideal for a licensed architect who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about delivering complex multifamily and mixed-use projects.
Key Responsibilities
Lead project teams through all design and documentation phases
Collaborate with the Studio Director and Project Manager on project strategy and execution
Perform comprehensive code analysis and regulatory reviews
Oversee production of construction documents and technical specifications
Review and redline drawings and consultant deliverables
Manage agency submittals and entitlement processes
Coordinate and oversee multidisciplinary consultants
Participate in construction administration and field coordination
Prepare Additional Service Requests and support project billing efforts
Partner with the Quality Control team to maintain documentation standards
Train, mentor, and support junior staff members
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum 7+ years of professional architectural experience
At least 6+ years working on multifamily projects
Proven experience in construction administration preferred
Proficiency in Revit required
Strong organizational, technical, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and project deadlines
Education & Licensure
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture (required)
Active California Architectural License (required)
Work Environment & Location
Based in TCA’s downtown Oakland office
Hybrid schedule: 3 days in office, Thursday–Friday remote
Flexible schedule with optional half-day Fridays
Compensation & Benefits
Salary Range: $95,000 – $125,000 (DOE)
