About Us:

Homebound is on a mission to make it possible for anyone, anywhere, to build a home using technology. Created by an experienced team of construction, real estate, design, and technology experts, Homebound is transforming the residential construction industry by improving the costly and inefficient process of building a home.

We’ve created an entirely new way to build homes with technology powering every stage from start to finish to provide a seamless experience for our customers. Homeowners across the country can choose where they want to live, select a home plan that’s perfect for them, then personalize and buy it, all online. Homebound has raised $150M in capital from leading venture capitalists like Google, Khosla, Thrive Ventures, and we’re scaling quickly in places like Texas, Colorado and Florida. Come build your future with us.

Architecture Associate

Architectural design and process management are central to how Homebound delivers high-quality homes efficiently across multiple markets. With architecture leading the early phases of each project, Homebound maintains a common thread through pre-construction services, coordinating design, construction documentation, and preparing projects for permitting and construction.

Homebound operates with a hybrid model where internal architects guide design direction and vision while a network of external consultants produces construction documentation. The Architecture Associate plays a central part in managing those consultant relationships, coordinating design development, and ensuring all architectural deliverables meet Homebound's quality and documentation standards. Experience aligned with a Project Architect or Architectural Project Manager is expected, with the ability to guide consultants, review design documentation, and keep projects moving efficiently from design through permitting.

Beyond project execution, this role will drive architectural plan development and the overall architectural process, contributing to the evolution of Homebound's plan series. The role supports exterior architectural character, materials, and design palettes to ensure homes feel distinctive, cohesive, and thoughtfully designed across markets. This role is well suited for someone who is a strong project manager with a designer’s mindset - someone who cares about proportion, materiality, and the details that elevate residential architecture.

This role will primarily support Florida markets including Tampa, St. Petersburg, and Jacksonville - candidates must be located within these markets.

What You'll Do:

  • Coordinate external architectural partners and consultants through pre-construction, managing communication, reviewing deliverables, and providing markups to ensure alignment with Homebound standards

  • Manage consultant selection, onboarding, and ongoing relationship management within Homebound's architectural partner network

  • Prepare and review construction documents prior to agency submittal and support the permitting process, including responding to jurisdictional comments and coordinating revisions

  • Ensure schematic design intent carries through design development and construction documentation, maintaining alignment with Homebound standards and project budgets

  • Support the development and refinement of Homebound's plan series, adapting layouts and architectural features to meet local zoning, site, and code requirements across markets

  • Provide design direction to external architects on exterior architecture, façade composition, and material selections, with a focus on strong residential design and cohesive architectural expression

  • Review and coordinate Revit models produced by external architects, ensuring compliance with Homebound modeling standards and documentation requirements

  • Partner with Product Development, Construction Operations, Procurement, and Sales teams to align architectural deliverables with construction and product strategy

What You'll Bring To The Table:

  • 5 to 8 years of architectural experience, with a background aligned with a Project Architect or Architectural Project Manager role

  • Experience working on single-family residential projects, including navigating zoning, permitting, and HOA approval processes

  • Experience in production or semi-custom homebuilding and/or boutique/custom residential design firms preferred

  • Strong eye for exterior architecture, materials, and overall composition

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Rhino, and/or Bluebeam; BIM experience required

  • Understanding of residential construction systems including structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing coordination

  • Familiarity with building codes, permitting processes, and climate-specific residential construction considerations

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or a related field

Desired Experience:

  • Experience working in Florida residential markets

  • Experience adapting standardized home plans across multiple markets

  • Architectural licensure or progress toward licensure

  • High fidelity rendering experience such as Enscape, Lumion, or 3ds Max
