Do you thrive on jumping into fast-moving projects, quickly understanding an existing drawing set, and driving construction documentation forward with precision? We're looking for an experienced Architectural Job Captain / Construction Documentation Specialist to work remotely with our client, a high-end residential architecture firm based in Los Angeles, California, focused on sophisticated custom homes across modern and traditional styles. What you'll do:

  • Support the production and completion of architectural construction drawing sets for high-end residential projects.

  • Review existing project documentation and quickly understand the current status, design intent, and remaining deliverables.

  • Complete, develop, and coordinate construction documents for high-end residential projects.

  • Produce accurate architectural drawings and construction details.

  • Prepare the CD Permit Set to present to local authorities.

  • Deliver CD sets to present to the general contractor.

  • Pick up redlines and markups accurately, maintaining consistency across the set.

  • Develop DD–CD sets of plans including floor plans, sections, and elevations.

  • Help the team manage a heavy production workload and meet several deadlines through October.

  • Coordinate drawing information and maintain graphic and technical consistency across the construction set.

  • Work with wood-frame residential construction systems.

  • Follow the firm's existing drawing standards, templates, graphic conventions, and workflows.

  • Incorporate comments, design changes, and feedback from the internal team.

  • Communicate directly with the firm's team and provide regular progress updates.

  • Collaborate remotely as an extension of the LA office.

  • Potentially assist with SketchUp modeling when required by the project.

  • Work on both modern and traditional residential designs.

What you must have:

  • A bachelor's degree in Architecture or higher.

  • Strong experience producing detailed architectural construction documents, particularly for high-end residential and wood-frame construction projects.

  • Comfort joining projects mid-stream, understanding an existing drawing set and workflow, and moving documentation forward efficiently.

  • Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD.

  • Advanced proficiency in SketchUp.

  • Ability to read, interpret, and develop architectural drawings and construction details.

  • Strong attention to detail and drawing accuracy.

  • Organized, reliable, and able to work with a reasonable degree of independence.

  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal.

  • Collaborative, professional, dependable, and genuinely enjoyable to work with.

A great plus:

  • Experience with TwinMotion or other 3D rendering / visualization software.

  • Experience with luxury residential projects in California.

  • Previous experience working with U.S.-based architecture firms.

  • Experience working as an extension of an in-house team on remote projects.
