Are you a production-focused Architectural Drafter with strong AutoCAD skills who understands how buildings actually come together, not just how they project onto a sheet? We're looking for an AutoCAD Architectural Drafter to support our client in the Bahamas on residential and boutique commercial projects, translating hand sketches, SketchUp massing studies, and Trace/FormIt sketches into clean, buildable 2D drawing sets. What you'll do:

• Produce 2D AutoCAD drawings — plans, elevations, sections, and sheets — from hand sketches, SketchUp models, and verbal direction.

• Develop SD sets of plans including floor plans, sections, and elevations, and pick up redlines accurately during the SD phase.

• Produce DD sets and full CD sets for residential and boutique commercial projects.

• Prepare permit-ready CD sets for submission to local authorities.

• Prepare CD sets to be presented to the general contractor.

• Draft construction details with a real understanding of conventional construction assemblies.

• Maintain and apply the firm's existing drafting standards — line weights, sheet setup, and established conventions — consistently across the full set.

• Prepare drawing sets ready to hand off to structural engineers and, eventually, MEP consultants.

• Join daily or twice-daily video check-ins to review progress and receive markups directly on screen.

• Flag constructability or drafting issues proactively, bringing one or two possible solutions rather than stopping and waiting.

• Occasionally support light SketchUp modeling alongside drafting work.

What you must have:

• Minimum 6 years of professional AutoCAD drafting experience in residential or light-commercial architecture.

• Strong AutoCAD proficiency — comfortable producing full construction document sets. The practice works purely in AutoCAD; Revit is not used.

• Solid understanding of conventional construction: wood framing, concrete foundations, and CMU walls with wood porch additions. No complex structural steel spans.

• Experience translating schematics, redlines, and sketches into clean, consistent documentation.

• Solid understanding of drawing standards and coordination for architectural deliverables.

• Fluent written and spoken English — the client does not speak Spanish and requires daily live collaboration.

• Stable, reliable internet for daily video calls and real-time screen-share markups.

• Comfort with a hands-on, highly iterative remote workflow: frequent check-ins, live markups, and close collaboration with the principal.

• Strong work ethic, genuine passion for architecture, and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.

• Strong attention to detail and a production-oriented mindset.

A great plus:

• Experience with traditional or timeless residential architecture and high-end custom homes.

• Prior remote experience with U.S.-based architecture practices.

• Basic SketchUp modeling ability (a plus, not a requirement — the firm intentionally keeps drafting and 3D modeling as separate roles).

• Ability to work quickly without sacrificing quality.
