Position Summary  

 ISI is seeking three (3) full-time onsite Construction Managers to support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) at the Pittsburgh VA Medical Center-University Drive for Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) Infrastructure Upgrades.

 The Construction Manager will provide construction-phase oversight support for EHRM-related projects at Bay Pines VAMC. The three Construction Managers shall alternate shifts to ensure onsite coverage whenever the General Contractor is working.


Key Responsibilities   

  1. Provide construction-phase oversight support  
  2. Track and monitor submittals and RFIs  
  3. Review submittals and provide written recommendations  
  4. Monitor construction schedule and progress  
  5. Perform construction inspections  
  6. Document deficiencies and track corrective actions  
  7. Monitor long-lead items   
  8. Review and verify as-built documentation  
  9. Support testing and commissioning activities  
  10. Prepare and submit daily inspection reports  
  11. Participate in project meetings  
  12. Work shall be performed onsite and may require approximately 60 after-hours days per year to align with contractor operations.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Four (4) year degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Technology, Construction Management, or related field and three (3) years of relevant Construction Management experience OR Additional three (3) years of relevant experience in lieu of degree
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification (within last five years) or ability to maintain within 90 days of hire
  • Experience supporting phased construction to maintain hospital operations
  • Experience supporting commissioning  
  • Familiarity with engineering and construction standards such as ASHRAE, NFPA, NEC, and Pennsylvania Building Code  
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for this Federal contract
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust (requires Federal background check and fingerprinting) 
  • Ability to work full-time onsite in Pittsburgh, PA
  • Ability to support after-hours work as required 


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting IT/low-voltage infrastructure projects  
  • Experience supporting healthcare infrastructure projects  
  • Experience working in active hospital environments to include implementing infection control procedures


Work Environment and Schedule / Physical Requirements

This job operates in a professional office environment, active hospital, and active construction sites. An employee must meet the physical demands described here to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.   • Full-time onsite at Pittsburgh VA Medical Center - University Drive.
  • Approximately 8 hours per day, Monday through Friday, aligned with VA operating hours. Must be available to support after-hours or night work as required.
  • Occasional off-hours work may be required during shutdowns, tie-ins, or testing
  • Work performed in an active healthcare construction environment.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary computer position for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods
  • Must be able navigate active construction sites containing uneven ground, debris, and active construction hazards such as sharp objects, electrical hazards, and potential fall hazards.
  • Must be required to occasionally move and lift 20-30 pounds.
  • Must be able to climb, erect and maintain balance on a 30-40 pound ladder.
  • Must be able to occasionally go into confined spaces and crawl
