We require a Construction Manager in the mining industry in Rustenburg.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Management and supervision of Contractors for civil and steel projects, - mainly renewals projects.
  • Assisting the Mine Project Engineer with planning and co-ordination of construction work within an operational plant, - i.e. red-field environment.
  • This will include interface and shut-down planning between mine processing operations and construction work to minimize disruptions to the processing operations of the plant and to optimize Contractors efficiency.
  • Control of procurement work processes, processing of Contractors monthly payment certificates, time-control, technical control and issue of works instructions.
  • Supporting the Mine Project Engineer with the enforcement of safety regulations and procedures.
  • Attendance of planning and co-ordination meetings.
  • Administrative work as required.

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • Construction Management qualification accredited by The South African Council for the Project and Construction Management Professions (SACPCMP), OR B.Tech OR B. Eng. degree qualification in civil /structural engineering.
  • Individuals may also apply, who have a trade qualification/trade diploma, - e.g. boilermaker, - and have substantially advanced through career development into the field of Construction Management, and have a high skill level in management and planning.
  • Candidates must be well conversant with MS Projects, Excel and MS Word. Autocad draughting experience will be advantageous.
  • 8 years minimum in Construction Management and Construction Planning. Experience in a Mining Environment may be advantageous.
