ASLA is looking for a Construction Manager to join our team in the Western Cape. You will need at least 8 years experience in Construction and solid leadership skills amongst others.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Degree/Diploma in Civil Engineering
Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Construction Manager on Civil Engineering contracts
At least 8 years’ post qualification experience in civil engineering construction
Site management capabilities must include resource planning, cost control and quality deliverables.
A task-driven, energetic-natured candidate with good people skills who can function effectively as a team leader would be considered for the post
Strong site leadership and management capabilities, with a firm but fair leadership style required
Knowledge of construction methodology and contractual responsibilities essential
The successful candidate would be expected to work throughout the Western Cape
Registration with ECSA or SACPCMP, will be an advantage
Computer literacy
Tasks and Responsibilities
Site management from site establishment to de-establishment
Planning and programming materials, staff and resources to optimum efficiency
Monitor quality, work output and reporting to management
Cost control and compilation of monthly progress claims
Occupational Health and Safety compliance
Manage subcontractors to ensure programme and cost compliance
All liaison with Employer, Consultants and Local authorities
