Construction Manager

Location: Limpopo, South Africa

An established renewable energy business is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead the delivery of utility-scale renewable energy projects in Limpopo.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all construction activities from site establishment through commissioning, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead construction execution across utility-scale renewable energy projects.
  • Manage site teams, supervisors, subcontractors and construction personnel.
  • Coordinate civil, structural, mechanical and electrical construction activities.
  • Monitor project schedules, budgets and resource allocation.
  • Drive compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality requirements.
  • Manage contractor performance and resolve construction-related issues.
  • Oversee progress reporting, stakeholder communication and project controls.
  • Ensure successful delivery of substations, grid connections and associated infrastructure.
  • Support commissioning and project handover activities.

Requirements

  • Degree in Civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 10 to 15 years' Construction Management experience.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience delivering utility-scale renewable energy projects.
  • Proven experience managing EPC construction activities on large infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of solar PV construction methodologies.
  • Experience with substations, electrical infrastructure and grid integration.
  • Professional registration through SACPCMP or PMP certification required.
  • Strong leadership, contractor management and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Permanent residents and South African citizens will be considered.

Location

  • Limpopo-based role.
  • Candidates willing to relocate or travel regularly between Gauteng and Limpopo are encouraged to apply.
