Summary

As a Construction Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful execution of landscape construction projects. You will be responsible for coordinating job walks with designers, collecting reporting data, performing Procore data entry, and taking a proactive approach to construction. In this role, you will collaborate closely with our design team, participating in job walks to gather necessary information and ensure a smooth transition from the design phase to construction.

As a Construction Manager, your role is central to the success of construction projects. Your responsibilities go beyond managing the construction process; you also play a key role in ensuring a positive customer experience and delivering on commitments. Here are some important areas where your focus will be:

  • Customer Experience: Strive to provide excellent customer experience throughout the construction process. This involves consistently communicating with the designer and customer, addressing their concerns, and ensuring their needs are met. Make them feel valued and involved in the project and provide daily updates on the progress. 
  • Concierge Approach: Adopt a concierge approach to each project by being proactive and anticipating the needs of the customer. Act as their point of contact, guiding them through the construction process, and providing guidance and support. Be accessible and responsive to their queries and concerns, ensuring they feel supported and valued throughout the project. 
  • Milestone Walks: Conduct milestone walks with the designer and customer at 7 points. This is an opportunity to review the progress made, address any concerns, and ensure that the work aligns with their expectations. Use this time to build rapport with the customer and provide them with personalized attention. 
  • Procore Data Entry: Utilize Procore, our project management software, to effectively manage project data. Accurate and timely data entry is crucial for tracking progress, documenting issues, and managing the project schedule. Ensure that all project-related information is updated in Procore regularly to enable efficient collaboration and decision-making. 
  • Attention to Schedule and Commitments: Pay utmost attention to the project schedule and the commitments made to the customer. Develop detailed construction schedules, monitor progress, and proactively address any delays or issues. Maintain regular communication with the project team to ensure everyone is aligned and actively working towards meeting project milestones and completion dates. 
  • It is crucial that all CMs to work hand in hand with project engineers and designers, fostering a collaborative environment that promotes effective communication and ensures project success.  
  • Transparency is essential in keeping everyone involved on the same page and maintaining a clear understanding of project progress. By providing accurate updates to the 2 and 12-week collections report, you help create a comprehensive overview of the project's status and align collection milestones. 

Requirements

  • PMP Degree, Construction Management, or a relevant field.  
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience and/or education in a similar role. 
  • Experience using ProCore, a PLUS 
  • In-depth knowledge of construction techniques and best practices. 
  • Capacity to manage various projects and work tight deadlines. 
  • Excellent negotiation and leadership skills. 
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of walking job sites and lifting heavy objects 
  • Must be able to lift 30 pounds at times.  
  • Ability to walk a jobsite on uneven terrain in the extreme heat or cold.
