Job Description

RCS Staffing has an immediate need for a Solar Construction Manager in Johnson City, TN. This is a contract On-Site assignment (approximately 6 months) with our client. Airfare and hotel lodging provided.

Overview of YOUR role as a Solar Construction Manager

As a Solar Construction Manager, you will oversee day-to-day, on-site construction activities for a 700kW commercial solar carport and rooftop project. You will serve as the primary on-site point of contact, direct subcontractors, conduct quality assurance inspections, and maintain documentation to ensure work meets quality standards and schedule requirements. This role requires an experienced construction professional with solar project experience and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders while working independently with remote project management support.

As a Solar Construction Manager YOU will:

· Serve as the primary on-site point of contact representing our client
· Direct, coordinate, and oversee subcontractor work on site
· Ensure work quality, schedule adherence, and full compliance with site safety requirements
· Conduct daily QA/QC inspections and maintain accurate documentation
· Coordinate with on-site facility team for access, logistics, and communication
· Walk the project site daily, capture progress photos, and document site activities
· Communicate regularly with the remotely assigned Project Manager
· Provide updates and escalate issues and concerns as needed
· Support Procore or similar construction management software for daily reporting and documentation
· Maintain positive working relationships with subcontractors and facility stakeholders

YOU are the ideal Solar Construction Manager candidate if you have:

· Minimum 5-6+ years of construction experience (required)
· Prior experience working on solar construction projects (required)
· Superintendent-level experience or relevant solar construction experience (required)
· Experience with QA/QC processes and documentation (required)
· High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
· Ability to direct subcontractors and enforce site safety practices
· Comfortable coordinating and communicating with on-site facility teams
· Ability to work on your feet and move around an active construction site daily in varying outdoor conditions
· Strong verbal and written communication skills

It’s a BONUS if you have:

· Minimum 1+ year of dedicated solar industry experience (highly preferred)
· Experience with Procore or other construction management software
· Strong ability to learn new tools and processes quickly
· Multiple solar project completions
· Commercial or industrial solar project experience
