POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a Construction Manager to join our team!

As a Construction Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of construction activities for new and existing telecommunications sites. This includes managing site evaluations, constructability reviews, site acquisition, construction execution, and post-sale support. You will collaborate with engineers, project managers, sales, and service teams to ensure all site development meets technical, budgetary, safety, and timeline expectations. This role is essential in delivering Motorola’s complete portfolio of Site Design and Integration services while ensuring total customer satisfaction.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

As Construction Manager, you will be tasked with…

  • Conduct site walks and evaluations of new and existing facilities.
  • Provide constructability evaluations of existing facilities and greenfield locations.
  • Size communication shelters, generators, UPS, DC plant equipment, and towers based on equipment layout and power requirements.
  • Perform a full range of Motorola Site Design and Integration services, including:
  • Site selection and constructability assessment
  • Risk evaluation and mitigation
  • Site acquisition and leasing
  • Participation in zoning meetings
  • Coordination of architectural and engineering services
  • Oversight of environmental and regulatory approvals (NEPA, FEMA, FCC, FAA)
  • Building renovations and co-locations
  • Complete site design and construction
  • Construction management
  • Dispatch center design and construction
  • Transportable communications solutions
  • Compliance with R56 standards and site safety guidelines
  • Collaborate with Motorola engineers to understand and communicate:
  • RF coverage and connectivity parameters (fiber and microwave)
  • Site selection and AC/BTU load requirements
  • Generator and backup power needs
  • Participate in customer meetings alongside the Project Manager, Engineering, Service, and Sales teams.
  • Represent Motorola in oral presentations and project discussions.
  • Work with contractors to:
  • Manage site construction on time and on budget
  • Serve as the A&E liaison
  • Assist with change order documentation and risk assessment
  • Support project schedule development with PMs and CM leads

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Strong ability to interface and maintain professional balance between customers, consultants, and internal teams.
  • Skilled in evaluating and justifying scopes of work, constructability, and cost estimates.
  • Experience generating site-specific cost estimates, SOWs, and resource requirements based on site walks.
  • Creative and practical problem-solving skills for equipment placement in varied environments (e.g., rooftops, water tanks, existing structures).
  • Effective communicator capable of presenting technical and financial details clearly.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to take ownership of civil aspects of the project and contribute to the success of the overall team.
  • Highly organized with attention to budget, scheduling, and quality control.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

·       Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field preferred.

·       5+ years of experience in telecom construction management or a related industry.

·       Proven experience with site design, construction supervision, and regulatory compliance.

·       Familiarity with public safety communication systems, Motorola site design standards, and R56 guidelines is highly desirable.
