Introduction

The Construction Manager supports the Project Manager with their accountabilities. The role is an established one with direct accountability.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Managing, directing, and monitoring on-site construction workers and subcontractors.
  • Safety & Compliance: Enforcing mine health and safety act (MHSA), conducting risk assessments, and ensuring proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) use.
  • Project Planning & Progress: Reviewing project plans and drawings to keep construction in line with schedules.
  • Cost Control & Procurement: Ordering materials, managing site expenses, and ensuring compliance with the approved budget.
  • Reporting: Liaising with project managers, project engineers and key stakeholders to report on progress, and addressing daily technical challenges.

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • Preferred Degree or Diploma in Construction Management
  • Qualification in Project Management or Mine Overseer Ticket

  • 5+ years’ experience in Construction/Engineering Project Management environment and Contractor Management.

  • Knowledge and experience of Mining and related operations environment and,

  • Technical areas - Geology, Mining, Metallurgy, Engineering.
