The Position
Construction Management
- Assist the Project Director and Associate Construction Director in managing development and capital works projects at the Hong Kong Science Park.
- Coordinate with project team leaders to manage projects, uphold project management frameworks, standards, and methodologies, and ensure timely delivery within budget and to required quality standards.
- Assist in vetting MEP submissions prepared by consultants or contractors.
- Handle emergency cases and provide support outside office hours when necessary.
Performance and Risk Management
- Drive, monitor, and report on project delivery progress throughout all stages of the project lifecycle.
- Identify potential risks, perform ongoing risk assessments, and implement proactive mitigation and contingency plans to maximize project success.
- Supervise the performance of consultants, resident site staff, and contractors.
- Prepare site reports on project progress, quality, and safety.
Stakeholder Engagement and Communication
- Act as the primary on-site point of contact to ensure timely and effective communication of project status across all internal teams and stakeholders.
- Provide technical advice to the project team and internal stakeholders to resolve site issues and facilitate daily operations.
- Liaise and coordinate with government departments, utility companies, external contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Prepare concise project reports, presentations, and updates to support alignment and transparency in decision-making.
Other Duties
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
The Candidate
- Degree holder in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Membership in a relevant recognized professional institution will be an advantage.
- 10-12 years of relevant working experience is preferred. Candidates with less experience will be considered for the Construction Manager role.
- Experience in MEP design and cleanroom design will be an advantage.
- Experience in managing large-scale, multi-disciplinary projects, including A&A works from inception through to completion and handover.
- Knowledge of statutory requirements and procedures for construction project delivery in Hong Kong.
- Strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Highly driven, structured, and proactive, with excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua).
