The Senior Interior Designer will work closely with Kathy Kuo and the interior design team on all residential and commercial projects ranging from NYC based projects to those further out of state. The ideal candidate will have experience in high end residential and commercial design in varying budgets as well as managing projects and teams.

Applicants should have excellent communication and organizational skills, in addition to sales experience and outstanding people skills. Your role is to combine creativity and technical knowledge with business skills and understanding to create functional and beautiful spaces for our clients - drawing from our exceptionally curated product line at Kathy Kuo Home.
We are seeking a candidate who has the ability to balance inspired design with commercial objectives. The ideal candidate must possess the ability to carefully curate product selections that fit our clients aesthetic and functional needs while also aligning with our vendor partnerships, profit margins, and inventory management strategies.
Responsibilities
Manage commercial hospitality freelance projects from initial consultation to completion, overseeing all aspects of interior design, including conceptual design, space planning, FF&E, schematic design, construction documents, presentations, and installations as needed.
Travel to job sites in the tri-state area or further to support project installs as needed.
Contract with external workrooms, manufacturers and project manage team to ensure timely turnaround of deliverables
Manage and support procurement and customer success team on post design services
Mentor team of junior and associate designers through conducting design reviews and participating in client reviews
Develop Inspiration boards, concepts, schematics, floor plans, presentation boards, and renderings.
Requirements:
5-7 years of relevant interior design experience and high end commercial projects
Proficient in hospitality design
B.A. in Interior Design or related field
Able to work remotely within the EST time frame
Highly proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
Highly proficient in AutoCAD and/or Sketchup.
Rendering capabilities in Rhino, 3Ds Max, and or Vray not required but preferred
Experience managing 15+ client projects concurrently with varying deadlines and scope
Extraordinary verbal and visual communication skills around functional and emotional design solutions
