Electrical Construction Manager – Healthcare Construction – Base Salary to 140k/year – Birmingham, AL
Our client is a leading manufacturer and builder of modular healthcare facilities serving major healthcare systems nationwide. They utilize advanced manufacturing processes, prefabrication, and construction technology to deliver high-performance healthcare building solutions.
They are seeking an Electrical Construction Manager to oversee electrical operations across national healthcare construction projects. This role will lead electrical estimating, workforce planning, scheduling, self-perform electrical operations, subcontractor coordination, and project execution while supporting safety, quality, and financial performance.
Responsibilities:
Lead estimating efforts for electrical self-perform construction scopes
Perform electrical quantity takeoffs and support material procurement activities
Manage subcontractor bidding, bid leveling, scope reviews, and subcontract awards
Oversee electrical scopes including:
Low voltage systems
Fire alarm systems
Nurse call systems
Data and communications systems
Security systems
Electrical utilities infrastructure
Coordinate purchase orders and material releases to support project schedules
Coordinate with internal design, engineering, manufacturing, and construction teams
Support preconstruction planning and constructability reviews for electrical systems
Plan and coordinate electrical shutdowns within active healthcare facilities
Develop manpower forecasts and allocate labor resources across multiple projects
Determine crew sizing, staffing requirements, and labor utilization strategies
Support project scheduling, sequencing, and duration planning for electrical scopes
Manage electrical submittals, RFIs, and construction documentation
Ensure compliance with electrical codes, safety requirements, and construction standards
Enforce SOPs and identify process improvement opportunities across projects
Train, mentor, and develop electrical field personnel and future trade leaders
Monitor project financial performance including labor productivity, forecasting, and profitability
Coordinate with project teams, subcontractors, vendors, and field leadership
Travel to project sites nationwide as needed
Qualifications:
10+ years of construction experience required
Experience managing direct labor teams within electrical construction trades
Strong experience with electrical estimating, bidding, and quantity takeoffs
Experience managing electrical scopes on commercial, industrial, institutional, or healthcare construction projects
Experience with electrical systems including low voltage, fire alarm, communications, data, security, and utilities infrastructure
Strong knowledge of electrical construction methods, building codes, and construction standards
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical drawings, specifications, and construction documents
Experience managing project financials, labor forecasting, and project profitability
Experience coordinating subcontractors, procurement activities, and construction schedules
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a high-volume construction environment
Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Experience with Procore construction management software
Strong understanding of contracts, specifications, and regulatory requirements
Ability to communicate technical construction information to project stakeholders and field teams
Ability to travel regularly to project sites nationwide
