About the role
- The Construction Manager leads the build of the CIL gold process plant at a new gold mine in Saudi Arabia.
- The client is establishing its construction management team over the next 12 months, ahead of building permanent operations staff.
- The role sits on a 24-month contract. The client has a pipeline of further projects, so strong delivery here can lead to the 2nd and 3rd builds.
- Hands-on gold process plant construction experience, with Carbon-in-Leach (CIL) as the core requirement.
- A record of delivering a processing plant through construction to handover, ideally in a senior construction management role.
- Working knowledge of the disciplines on a plant build: civil, structural, mechanical, piping, and electrical and instrumentation.
- Contract and commercial control of construction packages, including budgets, variations and contractor performance.
- A strong safety record and the ability to set the standard on site.
- Experience leading construction teams and managing multiple contractors at the same time.
- Comfort working with international suppliers and equipment supply chains.
- A relevant engineering qualification, or equivalent experience.
Essential
- A bachelor's degree in civil, mechanical or chemical/metallurgical engineering or equivelent experience
- Hands-on CIL gold plant construction experience.
- A current site safety qualification, such as NEBOSH or IOSH, plus site-specific tickets.
Strong advantage
- Professional engineering registration, such as ECSA Pr Eng (South Africa) or CPEng (Australia). I
- A project management qualification, such as PMP.
Nice to have
- Experience on a greenfield gold project, ideally an owner's side or first-project build.
- Involvement in commissioning and ramp-up, not just construction.
- Appetite for a multi-project path with the same client.
