POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Interior Design Project Designer (IDPD) plays a key role in supporting the Interior Design Project Managers (IDPMs) and Junior IDPMs throughout all phases of design and project execution. This role involves coordination across multiple divisions including Architecture, Décor, and Landscape Architecture, and requires strong organizational, communication, and design skills. The IDPD will assist in project documentation, client presentations, FF&E sourcing, site visits, and logistics, contributing to the successful delivery of high-quality interior design projects.
A strong candidate for this role will have a Bachelors or Masters degree in Interior Architecture or Interior Design and has a few years of experience working on an interior design team. Understanding of architecture, renovations and/or landscape architecture is beneficial since our designers work with an integrated team who touches all of these disciplines.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Design & Project Duties:
- Support and collaborate with IDPMs and Jr. IDPMs in managing interior design projects from inception to completion.
- Coordinate with Architecture, Décor, and Landscape divisions to ensure cohesive project execution.
- Participate in weekly internal project meetings, client meetings, and team meetings.
- Prepare for meetings, take organized notes, and submit meeting minutes for approval before distribution.
- Organize, prepare, and revise deliverables to ensure timely completion of assigned tasks.
- Support FF&E sourcing, sample ordering, client meeting prep, and Look & Feel presentations.
- Assist with email communications to clients, vendors, and consultants as needed.
- Document site visit notes including but not limited to site field measurements, onsite punch lists, and field reports and submit to IDPM for approval.
- Organize and maintain material library and office environment.
- Manage sample returns and vendor drop-offs; coordinate with GoGreen for printing and courier services.
- Maintain detailed project documentation including decisions, approvals, sign-offs, and meeting notes.
- Support purchasing and logistics tasks including SmartDesigner entries, vendor quote requests, and delivery coordination.
- Assist with project photography preparation and coordination
Administrative & Marketing Duties
- Submit timesheets accurately and on time every week.
- Participate in local networking and events
- Support business relationship development
- Act as a brand ambassador to enhance company reputation and visibility.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Interior Architecture, Interior Design, or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in Interior Design or Interior Architecture
- Proven proficiency in REVIT, Adobe Creative Suite. Experience with Sketchup, Lumion, and other rendering software a plus.
- Familiarity with industry standards, building codes, and construction practices.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate and well-coordinated drawings.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to evolving project needs.
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Experience preparing design documentation, schedules, and presentation materials.
- Familiarity with FF&E specifications, procurement process, and vendor coordination.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with design teams, consultants, and clients.
- Detail-oriented with a strong eye for design aesthetics and spatial planning.
- Ability to support project phases from concept through installation.
