Ogawa Fisher Architects is seeking an Interior Designer to join our team of design thinkers and doers working on a variety of projects within the commercial sector. You will be experienced in handling the client process, with excellent presentation and relationship building skills, and the ability to understand and interpret client needs and requirements.


The Interior Designer will work in partnership with colleagues across Ogawa Fisher’s practice areas, as well as with vendors and stakeholders at all levels. You will have the knowledge and ability to provide guidance to less experienced members of the Interiors team, advising and supporting where necessary.


Primary Duties: 

  • Develop comprehensive interior design concepts using industry-standard software such as SketchUp, AutoCAD, and PCon.
  • Create detailed technical drawings, plans, elevations, and 3D visualizations to communicate design intent effectively.
  • Contribute to all project phases: project strategy, test fits, schematic plans and conceptual designs for schematic design, refine design solutions for design development, collaborating with multiple disciplines.
  • Support construction documentation processes by producing accurate CAD drawings and specifications.
  • Prepare presentation materials using Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Creative Suite to showcase design proposals professionally.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are adhered to through effective project management.
  • Collaborate with consultants, contractors, fabricators, regulatory agencies and other vendors to achieve project objectives.
  • Contribute to our office and firm culture, initiatives, mentorship and talent development.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design or Architecture from an accredited school.
  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience working on design-led projects.
  • Has a good understanding of FF&E, color and material specification and development.
  • Demonstrable experience of Commercial and Retail Interior Design, through all stages of design and development.
  • An innate interest in the way consumers, brands and environments interact.
  • Knowledge of Revit and Autocad is essential.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage teams, mentoring junior members.
