We're looking for one or more talented Freelance Architects to work remotely with our client, a boutique architecture firm based in Tampa, Florida, focused exclusively on highly customized, high-end residences. What you'll do:

  • Assist with the Design Development (DD) and Construction Document (CD) phases of several luxury custom residential projects currently underway.

  • Produce 3D modeling during the DD phase to support design development.

  • Develop DD sets of plans including floor plans, sections, and elevations.

  • Prepare the CD Permit Set to present to local authorities.

  • Deliver the final CD set to present to the general contractor.

  • Pick up redlines and markups accurately, maintaining graphic and technical consistency across the set.

  • Research materials, products, building systems, and zoning/code requirements throughout the design and construction phases.

  • Coordinate closely with consultants, interior designers, and builders on sophisticated residential projects.

  • Contribute thoughtfully to both design and technical problem solving, with a focus on how the home will be lived in.

  • Work with minimal oversight, independently managing and prioritizing your tasks.

What you must have:

  • A bachelor's degree in Architecture or higher.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in luxury custom single-family residential architecture.

  • Experience working on projects in Florida.

  • Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD.

  • Advanced proficiency in SketchUp.

  • Strong experience producing highly detailed construction documents from concept through completion.

  • Strong design sensibilities and attention to detail.

  • Ability to research materials, products, building systems, and zoning/code requirements.

  • Strong communication and coordination skills.

  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal.

  • Collaborative, professional, dependable, and genuinely enjoyable to work with.

A great plus:

  • Experience with TwinMotion or other 3D rendering / visualization software.

  • Experience documenting coastal residences and other complex custom homes.

  • Experience coordinating with consultants, interior designers, and builders on sophisticated residential projects.

  • Previous experience working with U.S.-based architecture firms.
