Do you believe a great home is defined as much by its proportions, materials, and details as by how people actually live in it? We're looking for one or more talented Freelance Architects to work remotely with our client, a boutique architecture firm based in Tampa, Florida, dedicated exclusively to highly customized residences. The firm intentionally takes on a limited number of projects each year to stay closely involved in every stage of design and documentation, and they're now seeking support on several luxury custom homes currently underway. Apply today!

BetterPros unlocks human potential by offering competitive compensation, flexibility, constant learning and growth, and the opportunity to work anywhere you want with one of our +130 active clients across the United States.

What you'll do:

  • Support the Design Development (DD) and Construction Document (CD) phases of several luxury custom residential projects.

  • Build 3D models during the DD phase to help explore and refine the design.

  • Produce DD sets including floor plans, sections, and elevations.

  • Prepare permit sets for submission to local authorities.

  • Develop complete CD sets for the general contractor.

  • Pick up redlines carefully, keeping every sheet graphically and technically consistent.

  • Research materials, products, building systems, and zoning/code requirements throughout design and construction.

  • Collaborate closely with consultants, interior designers, and builders on refined, detail-driven projects.

  • Bring thoughtful input to both design and technical challenges, always keeping the client's way of living at the center.

  • Manage and prioritize your own work independently, with minimal oversight.

What you must have:

  • A bachelor's degree in Architecture or higher.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in luxury custom single-family residential architecture.

  • Experience working on projects in Florida.

  • High proficiency in AutoCAD.

  • High proficiency in SketchUp.

  • Strong experience producing highly detailed construction documents from concept through completion.

  • Strong design sensibility and a sharp eye for detail.

  • Ability to research materials, products, building systems, and zoning/code requirements.

  • Strong communication and coordination skills.

  • Fluent English, both written and verbal.

  • A collaborative, professional, and dependable approach, and someone genuinely enjoyable to work with.

A great plus:

  • Experience with TwinMotion.

  • Experience documenting coastal residences and other complex custom homes.

  • Experience coordinating with consultants, interior designers, and builders on high-end residential projects.

  • A clear understanding of the level of care and refinement that luxury custom homes require.
