Wendel is currently seeking a mid-level Interior Designer to join our Buffalo, NY office. This is a full-time position with opportunities for growth in a creative and fun workplace. Wendel works in many markets including corporate, healthcare, education to transit, offering opportunities to work on a wide range of projects. 

Wendel is looking for a candidate that is enthusiastic to learn and grow, is flexible and has a passion for design. As a growing office, the ideal candidate will also possess experience with or a desire to manage people. The candidate will receive direct training with a gradual onboarding of responsibilities, working closely with the current managers.

You will be responsible for: 

  • Programming
  • Field verification
  • Space Planning
  • Code Review
  • Construction Document Development
  • Construction Administration
  • Finish and Furniture selection and presentations.
  • Developing and maintaining client relationships.
  • Mentor and train younger staff through collaboration on project work
  • Co-manage our material library

Additional management responsibilities include:

  • Excellent communication skills including active listening
  • Ability to delegate and oversee multiple staff on multiple projects
  • Conduct annual staff reviews
  • Interview, hire, and onboard new direct reports as required to support project work

Qualifications:

  • 6 to 14 years of experience in interior design
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Proficiency with REVIT, Microsoft Office Suite, and Bluebeam Revu
  • Knowledge of building codes is required
  • 3D rendering capabilities is preferred

Salary Range: $62,000-$95,000

Wendel is committed to providing fair, competitive, and market-informed compensation. The salary offered will be determined based the successful candidates’ relevant education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. The salary offered will also take into consideration regional adjustment factors.
