Job Description

***RELOCATE TO SOUTHLAND***

The Company

Reliant Solutions is a specialist bolted steel tank construction company delivering end-to-end turnkey solutions across rural, commercial, and industrial sectors. As a leader in design and installation, they provide world-class storage solutions with precision, integrity, and reliability.

With continued growth across New Zealand, they are seeking a driven and technically capable Technical Sales Representative to strengthen their market presence.

This role is to be based out of Invercargill, and we are also open to candidates wanting to relocate to the Southland.

The Opportunity

Reliant Solutions is looking for an experienced Preconstruction Manager to join the team in Invercargill. This is a key role responsible for ensuring projects are thoroughly planned, coordinated and ready to move into construction before the Project Manager takes over.

You'll bring together design, budgets, programmes, procurement, subcontractors, compliance and stakeholder requirements, making sure every detail is aligned before work gets underway.

The role will primarily focus on preconstruction, with the opportunity to also take on Project Management responsibilities across lower South Island projects, including Southland, Central Otago and Queenstown Lakes.

About the role

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you'll take ownership of project readiness during the preconstruction phase and act as the key link between clients, designers, suppliers, subcontractors and the internal delivery team.

Overview of Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate preconstruction activities, programmes and deliverables.
  • Manage design, approvals, procurement and client signoffs.
  • Identify project risks, critical paths and long-lead items early.
  • Prepare tender documentation, scopes, procurement schedules and handover packs.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, contractors and clients.
  • Manage materials, orders and delivery timeframes.
  • Support RFIs, constructability reviews and early contractor involvement.
  • Prepare and manage HSEQ and quality documentation, including SSHPs, SWMS and ITPs.
  • Ensure contracts, purchase orders, project documentation and financial information are accurate and up to date.
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure projects are fully resourced and ready for mobilisation.
  • Implement, own and maintain a national coordination system, with a focus on process improvement, consistency and enhanced project deliverables.

About You

You'll ideally bring:

  • Previous experience in preconstruction, project management, construction management or a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of pre-construction planning, procurement, scheduling and project coordination.
  • The ability to coordinate design documentation and understand construction requirements.
  • Experience working with subcontractors, suppliers, clients and other project stakeholders.
  • Strong commercial and contractual awareness.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • A proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues before they become problems.
  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to coordinate multiple stakeholders.
  • A strong commitment to health, safety and quality.
  • Tech-savvy, with the ability to leverage technology to improve processes, efficiency and project deliverables (desirable).

Most importantly, you'll be someone who takes ownership, communicates clearly and understands that good preparation on the front end creates better outcomes on site.

Why Join?

  • Competitive salary package
  • High-trust, collaborative culture
  • Opportunity to work on essential infrastructure projects across New Zealand

If you're an experienced construction professional who enjoys the planning, coordination and problem-solving that happens before boots hit the ground, we'd love to hear from you. Apply today!
